Davul/Tapan
Variations of these double-headed drums are played in Turkey, the Balkians, and throughout the Middle-East.
Usually slung sideways from the shoulders, they are played with a mallet on the bass side and a whip on the treble side. Sylvan Temple’s Davul’s are very light, tune by sliding knots down the shell, and have a weighted goat skin on the bass side and a thin synthetic skin on the treble side.
